The Company and Senior boys headed to Brockenhurst in the New Forest over the weekend 20th to 22nd September for a autumn camp at Tile Barn Outdoor Centre. We were joined by our friends from 4th Portsmouth for a fun packed couple of days.
The weekend activities started Friday night once accommodation was pitched and beds organised, with hot dogs to refuel for some wide games.
Saturday was adventure activity day with bacon rolls setting the tone for a morning of Archery and craft. Lunch gave a good break before we hit a double rope session of Crate Stacking and Abseiling. It was good to see the boys conquer any fears or reservations and work their way down the tower.
With the whole of the site to ourselves Saturday evening our wide games became even more expansive, making use of the area available to us to charge about in the dark trying to out fox the leaders. With the moon providing some good light to run about in. We wrapped up the night with a camp fire with smores toasted directly over the fire.
Unfortunately Sunday’s weather did not remain as nice as the previous day so we made the most of a break in the rain to complete a scavenger hunt in the village before we struck camp in the rain and headed home.
