We understand that bringing your child to something new results in a significant number of questions

Hopefully between this page and our leaders we can answer those and give you peace of mind that they will be looked after and have fun in a safe, friendly environment.

The Boys' Brigade a Christian youth organisation and is the oldest uniformed organisation of it's kind in the world and has been offering activities to boys and young people since 1883. Boys of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to join us.

Activities & Rewards

Our activities are vary from team games and sports to crafts and more challenging projects depending on age and interest of the boys themselves.

The Anchor and Junior Section focus on being fun and lively, the Discover programme for Company Section looks to investigate and explore where as the Senior Challenge+ programme encourages the boys to push their knowledge and skills outside of what they may already know.

We believe that children respond best to positive encouragement and recognition. The Boys' Brigade has a full award programme which we run and use to reward their individual achievements. There are no exams and the scheme is designed to be participative.

We invite parents to come and share in the boys achievements at our annual awards evening that takes place at the end of the spring term.

Code of Conduct

We expect the boys to conduct themselves in a way that is reflective of our organisation by encouraging respect for each other, themselves and the leaders. We are inclusive and everyone is welcome to join in our activities and should feel comfortable doing so.

We take bullying very seriously and do not want any member to be discouraged from coming along because of the actions of another member.

Safeguarding

All our leaders are appointed by our church and in order to be able to work with the children and young people they are registered with The Boys' Brigade UK and have completed an enhanced DBS check.

Our safeguarding policy is over seen at Waterlooville Baptist by our Children and Youth Minister Rev. John Thompson. He is always available to speak about any subject related to Children, our policies and work within The Boys' Brigade.

If you do have any concerns with the work with our children the leaders will ensure they will deal with it in strictest confidence.

You can get in contact with us to let us know or if you have any other questions. We will look forward to seeing you.
