BMS Action Team Visit

Posted: 2019-06-18 by Waterlooville BB Admin

We were delighted to welcome and host 3 members of the BMS Action Teams to BB on Monday 17th June.

Fresh from the 6 months spent in Kosovo, Hermione, Niamh, Jeff and Sarah (pseudonyms) came and shared with all ages their experience and knowledge of being part of the BMS (Baptist Missionary society) Action Team.

Action Teams is a Christian gap year programme for 18 - 23 year olds to serve God around the world. One month's training, six months overseas - in Africa, South America, Asia or Europe - and two months UK mission tour.

Running some games learnt whilst in the region and sharing some of the challenges children, young people and adults experience; in a country that was not that long ago in the middle of a civil war and genocide. It was facinating to learn and begin to apreciate the divides that are still happening between ethinic groups on the eastern side of our continent, somethings that we would take for granted based here in Waterlooville.

We thank the team for visiting and sharing with us, it was a pleasure to host as part of the tour and enjoy some pizza together too.
