1st Waterlooville Company

Anniversary Parading of Colours

50th Anniversary

In 2009 the company celebrated it's 50th anniversary

Since being founded in 1959 we have met at the Baptist Church in Waterlooville, near Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK.

A special celebration was held on October 10th 2009 with many past members coming to join the service. It was a brilliant afternoon with members returning to share memories and news. Memories come flooding back with photographs, videos and other memorabilia to prompt past members and friends, the phrase “Do you remember when…” was commonly heard.

While enjoying a splendid tea, the afternoon was filled with happy chatter, and occasional guffaws of laughter. Many messages had been received, including a letter by the founding Minister, Rev Douglas Sparkes, and these were on display for folk to read.

It was encouraging to realise the influence that the BB had had on so many young lives, and how so many still valued their BB experiences.

Founder Captain, Mr Peter Reed, and company section member, Peter Williams, are shown cutting the celebration cake in the pictures below.

Prior to the event some very old photo's were dug out, we wonder how many events, and past members, can be identified. These can be seen in the photos on the history page
